THE PLOT:

When Taylor's ship never returns to Earth of the past, they send another ship to investigate. Lead by Brent, he too lands on the Planet Of The Apes and after escaping the cluthes of Zaius and the Gorilla goons of Otho. Brent sets out into the forbidden land guided by Nova who Taylor taught basic english.

What they find is a destroyed city lead by Mutants that worship the only Colbot bomb with a colbot casing ever made. If exploded could destroy the entire world. Bad timing for Zaius and Otho to show up in the mood for a fight.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

As you know I liked the first movie allot, I feel that the remake doesn't compare to the original and in my humble opinion there was no need for a remake. Now in the second installment, I am glad to see Charleston Heston back as Taylor. I also liked the way the story picks up not long after the first leaves off. The cast again does a great job and the effects are even better then the first. I never knew about a Colbolt bomb before this movie. I really didn't, and I learned something. Colbolt bomb, bad. Anyway, the acting is great, the effects are great. Now without giving anything away, the climax is kind of sad. But there is three movie movies so that makes it good. So another 9 STARS for the second movie in the ape legend.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree with Zedd on this. Planet of the apes are one of my favorite series of movies. The cast does do a killer job. But the science if always alittle iffy with these time travel movies and they still never explain what is the thing that causes them to travel through time, is it natural or artifical or what? But that's nothing, 9 STARS as well.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ CAST (It's good to see the original cast.)
+ ACTING (The acting is great.)
+ MAKE UP EFFECTS (The make up effects in this is amazing.)
+ STORY (The story works.)
+ NEW CAST MEMBERS (The additions to the cast works.)
+ FANS (Fans of the first movie should like this one.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- SAD CLIMAX (Without giving it away, it was a sand ending and if there wasn't another movie the review might have been different.)
- TIME GLITCHES (The ending of the third movie may cause a paradox real time travel theories.)

- FAN BASED (If you didn't like the first movie, then you may not like this one)
