Sam Harper was a Gulf War Veteran until his plane was accidently shot down by friendly fire and lost somewhere in the desert
of Iraq. Five years later Sam's copter and his remains are found. But some twisted will is keeping Sam from dying that fateful
day and his coprse comes back to life on the eve of Independeance Day.
After killing a teen wearing the character of Uncle Sam when he was peeping a naked woman, Sam takes the guise of the
beloved Uncle of these United States and pray that he does't find you as an undisirable.
Now there has been slasher movies, there have been zombie movies and there even has been zombie slasher movies. But using
the persona of Uncle Sam to kill people is a cool new twist on both genres. Sam is a scary looking guy with or without the
Sam mask, the story works. It has a great cast that does a great acting job. The story works, now the problem with it. The
kid is obsessed with war, his mother should have told him that war is Hell and people die in war, it ain't no game. Which
is finds out the hard way when Sam comes a calling for a visit. The Sam decay make up is gory and cool. The plastic mask is
cool, let's face it, Uncle Sam is 97 % cool and worth watching over and over again. 8 STARS.
I agree and loyal visitors to this site already know how I really feel about this movie, for I already recommended it as a
buried treasure way back in January. So you know already that I think it is a cool new twist on the horror genre and want
to see a sequel made. 8 STARS.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ GROSS EFFECTS (As good as any Friday the 13th.)
+ STORY (The story works on a new twist.)
+ UNCLE SAM SUIT (I love that suit.)
+ CAST (The cast does a bang up job.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- MINOR CHARACTER ISSUES (The mother should have told him what Sam was truly like years ago.)
