Lance was the owner of a small cafe and was even a small thug. He was having an affair with the biggest bully and jerk in
town. So mean, not even the law wants to do anything to with him. But when Lance and Loretta stumble apon the Stagpool secret,
that Myron and his three siblings are quadruplets and mutants. Plus Myron is doing horrible experiments on anyone unlucky
enough to drive by at night. Lance gets the idea to blackmail Myron to get rid of his lover's husband.
But when Lance gets greedy with the Stagpool money it might spell not only the end of the affair but the end of Lance's
life as well.
Now I got to admit, there is allot wrong with this film, there are serious character issues. For one, the Stagpool family
is doing twisted experiments and murdering people. Lance is a hood that blackmails them, so he's not much of a hero either.
So, again like BLOOD DOLLS, with two opposing sides both bad, it's hard to know who to route for. But the Stagpool mutants
are kind of cool, Myron is my favorite of the male members of the family. Now he said he has a fascination with the human
brain, but what was the goal. Brain experimenting without a goal is just playing. The character issues aside, it is a watchable
movie during a late night and you can't sleep. 7 STARS
I agree with Zedd on this one and what is with the Howard character, I'm sorry, but no one is above the law, not even Howard.
If I was Lance, I'd just call the state troopers on his butt and be done with it. But that's me. But as for the rest of
the story, it's amazing the way they turned a full grown man into a giant head. And what the hell happened to the sequel,
if you look at the bonus features of this DVD, you see a trailer for the seqeul BRIDE OF THE HEAD OF THE FAMILY. But it doesn't
exist, I looked for it and looked for it, the IMDB says it doesn't exsist. So look at the box of the DVD and call up the
distributor and ask them, WHERE THE HELL IS THE BRIDE OF THE HEAD OF THE FAMILY? But as for HEAD OF THE FAMILY, 6 STARS.
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ ACTING (I got to admit, the acting was pretty good.)
+ CAST (The cast does a great job and have fun doing it.)
+ CREATURE EFFECTS (The Stagpools are cool.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- CHARACTER ISSUES (It's hard to know whose good, when everyone's a crook.)
- NO SEQUEL (The DVD claims a sequel that appears not to exist.)
- STORY (The story falls flat at times.)
- GOAL (What was the goal of Myron's insane experiments, to get a new body? He never truly explained how that could work.)
